It may read as a PiRAD 3 on a scale of 1 to 5.  If it's a PiRAD 3, it's cancer equivocal meaning that that lesion has a 50/50 chance of being something.  I wouldn't get too caught up with that now.  The biopsy will determine the diagnosis.  It does look like you are heading for the MRI guided biopsy.  I myself, have had 2 bx's with a few Gleason 3+3 or 6, low involvement percentages with each...

Hello Himads, At the moment, my diagnosis is very low/low grade. I’m 3 out of 12 positive, 5%,5%,20%. All Gleason 6. I had the OncoDX done just to get more data as my regular urologist thought I’d be a good candidate for AS. My uro brought it up and warned it comes with a heavy price tag. Full price is over $4k but with my insurance about $900.00 10 months later it’s still under review but it’s guaranteed to ...

Thanks for the Guidelines link.  Interestingly, the urology surgeon I consulted with, Martin Sanda is on the panel.

Thanks. There was history of cancer but not prostate cancer.  I think about what you have said as well, but all the doctors and what I've read pretty much echo that AS is not a definitive path without recourse as the situation changes.

Well several months have passed by as I've been accumulating additional data.My initial biopsy had 3 cores positive out of 12. (5%, 5%, 20%) All 3 cores Gleason 3+3=6. Clinical is a T1C. PSA 4.4, PSA Density 0.16, Prostate volume (cc) 28. I thought the urologist said grams but maybe I misunderstood. I had the slides sent to Johns Hopkins and their finding was an identical match to the original. The slides where ...

Well the covering urologist called me with the following information. 3 cores positive out of 12. She gave percentages of 5%, 20% and 5%. Gleason 3+3=6. I asked if anything else struggling to write it on a sticky note. I asked what she thought and she replied "not bad at all". I'm to make my follow up call to schedule a cancer consult with my Uro.

Well I had my biopsy last Thursday. I had a rectal swab the previous Thursday. Based on a previous bout with endocarditis, it was decided between my ID Doctor and Uro to premedicate with 1875mg of amox-clavunate per day starting 2 days before. Well 15 hours after procedure, my temp spiked to 101.9. Took 2 Tylenol and temp didn't go down. Called Uro on call at 3am and he said go to ER. ID doctor admitted me and put me...

I've been reading information on this board for about 6 months now. I'm 55 yo. In the past 15 years, my PSA has ranged from 0.9-1.9. In February 2016 it was 5.2. At this time I had an inguinal hernia that was repaired in March 2016 fwiw. Since that time, I had a repeat PSA of 2.8 with a free of 13.2 in May 2016. That was followed by a PSA of 4.6 with a free of 11.6 in November 2016. My last PSA a few weeks ...
