Dear Charlotte, That's so great about Dr. Ajani's recommendation for exaclty the right chemo that's helping your husband!!!  That must have felt like no small miracle, indeed!  Sometimes things truly depend on only one factor such as that. I always believe there is an answer somewhere, one only has to search and hopefully find it.  I have heard of the Anderson center in Texas, but my mom became w...

Dear Charlotte, You must be a very sensitive person to read my posting and to see right through my (disguised) guilt!  Thanks so much for reminding me there was probably nothing I could really do.  I guess there's no such thing as "if only"or "what if"; there's only what is.  And that's often very hard to deal with, but it's all we have.  I hope that you are doing better and thanks very much for ...

Yes, I remember how extremely frustrated my mom and I felt during all of the many delays happening with the testing ... it seemed to me like they could have been done a lot faster (something I notice many people on this site say) ... yet being too fast with some of the tests is what caused my mother to go into kidney failure, thus preventing rapid treatment and, actually, any treatment at all.  Be patient, ...

Do any of you know how quickly stomach cancer actually spreads?  Is it months, weeks, or years?  There were so many delays before my mother's diagnosis during a period of about 9 months and then it was too late.  (She was diagnosed with signet cell stomach cancer in the cardia of the stomach.)

Robleyd, So beautifully said!  And you are right.  I also found that oncologists are often at direct odds with surgeons, which makes the decision to do anything very uncomfortable and difficult.  The oncologist would say one thing and the surgeon another, often stating very opposing viewpoints.  Thanks for you inspirational message.

Dear Hippichicjes, I know how you feel, because that's how scared I felt when my mother was waiting for the results of her biopsy (and I only can imagine how frightened she, herself, was), when a large tumor was found in the cardia of her stomach.  I also blamed myself for not influencing her to return to the doctor about six months earlier (and for not calling him myself), after he called saying...

Yes, only a biopsy of the tumor can tell whether it's actually cancerous or not.  Otherwise, it's guesswork, although there are signs. Here's wishing you the very best.

At least it's usually more fun trying to gain weight, than lose it!~  Interesting about Ritz crackers absorbing stomach acid, I didn't know that.  Why are peanuts and peanut butter not good to eat (I eat lots of peanut butter - organic - and even give it to my dog).  My mom always told me that peanuts attract mold.

My mother passed away 2 months ago from stomach cancer and I know what you are going through ... I just noticed your post was already from several weeks ago, but I hope things have resolved somehow in a peaceful and good way.  Blessings.
