Sorry it has taken me so long to write back. I was on  Xgeva a couple of years before the pain started, so I don't believe it is that. We have increased my Celebrex again, and the pain is gone completely for now. I'm on the highest dose, so I dread when it's not enough anymore. But today is a good day, right? :-)  I will be getting my next scan in the next month or 2. The Xeloda/Temodar seems to be a good c...

Glad to hear your Mom is mostly stable. I know how you feel though, just when you think you understand what's going on, there are always new questions. Unfortunately with these diagnoses I have learned that stable is a good thing, shrinking rarely happens.  However, I just read your new post and noticed your Mom also has it in the bones as I do. Even if she doesn't have arthritis, the Celebrex should help h...

Sorry to hear about your Mom. I am not on a cycle regimen. I have been 2 weeks on 2 weeks off since January. 1500 daily days 1-14 on the Xeloda; and 200 daily days 10-14. I was happily surprised that my scan has remained stable. My Doctor believes that I just jarred something and it brought my pain back. A month has gone by since my scan, and the pain is receding again. Side effects have also been mild.  I'm sur...

Hi I have carcinoid, tumor in small intestine, with mets to lymphnoids, small spots on liver, and in the bones. For the last 5 years have been on Sandostatin and xgeva with good success. Pretty much stopped the growth until last fall. I Started the Xeloda and Temodar, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, in January. My bone pain completely went away for about 4 months. Then a few weeks ago, it was like someone flipped a switch an...

Hi, I happened to find your post and am curious how you are doing. I have carcinoid with a tumor on small intestine, mets to lymphnodes, small spots on liver and mets also to the bone. Very similar to you back in 2011. I've been on the Sandostatin shots since 2009. Last fall the cancer started to grow again and I started the Temodar and Xeloda in January. For the most part I've done well on the treatme...

Hi, I've been on sandostatin shots for 5 years. Yes they can be painful, but they've improved a lot over that time. The key is to make sure they don't sit around on a tray waiting for you. It thickens up as it sits around. That happened to me when I was in the hospital. It was like trying to fit a tree into a toothpick! But at the cancer center that I go to , the pharmacy prepares it and they actually keep moving/swi...

Hi, Thanks for your response. The post you replied to is a little old. Therefore I will give you my current story to help us both.First of all, I've been on Sandostatin 40's for 5 years. He increased this to 60 in November. I had great success for 5 years, Pretty much stopped all growth until last fall. In January I did start a Xeloda and Temodar regimin. I take 1- 500mg Xeloda after breakfast and 2- 500mg after...

Thanks for the info. I'm glad you finally found a good treatment for you and am encouraged by your results. Nausea isn't any fun, but as you said, it's a small price to pay for your results. Was there any other side effects, did you lose your hair? Thanks again and God Bless.......
