My opinion is that you get that mass removed.  Once kidney cancer spreads beyond the kidney it is deadly.  Radiation typically does not work on kidney cancer, it is used more or less for bone mets and pain control.  If you chose to monitor it, it's always going to be in mind that it could be cancer again.  With it growing, I would get it OUT!!  My mom passed away from kidney cancer, I do not ...

Like you my mom didn't ever get better, she passed away 7 months after diagnosis.  None of the medication worked for her and the cancer just went wild through out her body.  If you look at the prognosis of stage 4 RCC there are many factors that play a part in the outcome.  I forget what the doctors called it, but my mom scored very poorly on them.  One was high calcium in the blood, cause she had...

Hi Debbie, If that mass is growing, I would definately want it removed!!  The earlier kidney cancer is found the better the outcome.  I am not sure if they usually do biopsies, in my mom's case they just remove the tumor and then biopsy it.  If it were me, I would get a second opinion from another urologist, preferably one that specializes in kidney cancer.  Good luck and hopefully it is a cyst o...

MD Anderson is one of the top hospitals to go for kidney cancer.  If you are able to get there, that is where I would go.  As far as the tumor on your kidney, I would have another oncologist decide what to do about that.  Yeah you can wait, but kidney cancer is curable if caught in the early stages.  Sounds like you have been through a lot!!  Go where you feel comfortable, it's your body and ...

I agree with Gail...make sure you get follow up scans.  Most people I talk to get the first one after 3 months of kidney removal and then every 6 months.  A second opinion never hurts, and I agree with seeing an oncologist that specializes in kidney cancer also.

Oh no...I am so sorry that he had to have more tests done :(  I can't imagine what you are going through...I worry so much about my kids.  My son had an issue with his heart when he was 3 and I was just sick and couldn't sleep thinking the worst.  All turned out ok, thank God!!  I will keep you in my prayers and please keep us posted.  Hoping the antibiotics work and will pray it is nothing s...

Good to hear that you had great results with Sutent!!  I don't think it is uncommon for the cancer to grow while taking a break.  I am involved in another kidney cancer group and the lady that runs the group, her husband has been on sutent 3 different times with it working all 3 times!  He had been on other medications in between without much luck.  Keep your head up, there are lots of medications...

If there is a chance it could be RCC, get that tumor out of your body!!  In the early stages it can be cured...I wish my mom had found hers early.  They can do  a partial nephrectomy, so you don't have to lose your whole kidney.  Sorry to seem paranoid, but man I  hate this cancer and it is so aggressive in later stages.  Please keep us posted!!

I have not dealt with colon cancer but my mother was diagnosed and passed away from kidney cancer.  Also no cancer in family.  If I were you, I would talk to someone and if it would ease your mind, have a colonoscopy done.  I think you are perfectly normal to worry about yourself having it too.  I don't dwell on the fact I could have kidney cancer, but when my back hurts, what's the first thing I ...

My heart goes out to you...I lost my mother a little over a year ago.  If you ever need anyone to chat with, feel free to send me a message.  It's hard and it takes a long time to get used to them not being around.  I can tell you that after a year has passed things do get better, but I don't think our hearts will ever be healed.  Keep your head up sweetie, your husband would want you to keep livi...
