Avastin?

by jdlinder - April 09, 2015

I been trying to get the chemo avastin from my hospital but they are telling me its $5000 but my insurance company is telling me it is approved. What do I do?

Yes in small doses also with interferon and leukine. I will be starting this regimen in oct. Already done folfirinox and abraxane/gemzar. My doctor had me on these chemos for only 4months at a time so I won't get resistant to any of them.

 Ifosfamide, Mesna, Doxil and abraxane?

Hi everyone, Quick question...I am now on Gemzar/Abraxane, Interferon, and Leukine. My liver panel was fine last week but this week they went up and I am not sure why. My AST is 81, ALT 144 and Alk Phos.-162. What would cause a sudden increase in my levels in one week? Anyone else have this problem? Would love to hear your input! Thanks so much! Jodi

Hello I've been on gemzar/abraxane for the last 2 months and my ca19 was down to 9.6. My doctor by accident took my ca19 the next week, only a week apart from each other and it jumped to 17.6. Should I be concerned??

Hello my sister also has pancreatic cancer she is 42. She is 7months with this disease and going GREAT!!We live in ft lauderdale and we actually work with two Doctors Dr Israel wiznitzer at university of miami in plantation and Dr Ben Chue in Seattle. Both are amazing!!  google Dr Ben Chue. We first started with Dr Roche lima at university of miami but felt Dr Chue was more of a fighter. Good luck with your brother.

Has anybody ever tried this with gemzar/abraxane?

So, my last ca19-9 levels were normal 33.Yay !!! But I still have a 2×2.9cm tumor on my pancreas and 2 spots on my liver. I have been on folfirinox for 5 months and folfiri for the last 2 months due to neuopathy. I am getting a Splenic Arterial Embolization done next month for my enlarged spleen and to keep my platelets up during my next months of chemo. Any thoughts on what else I can do to decrease the tumor size and live spots? Love my ca19-9 and feel great but want to see the tumor and spots gone!!!! Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks.

Do you stay with your oncologist who has statistics of 1 to 2 years? I was on folfirinox for 9 treatments and the last 4 with folfiri because of neuropathy. After the 12th chemo, My scan showed 2 small liver lesions left(from multiple)and a 2cm tumor on my pancreas(started at 3.3 cm). I asked my doctor if we can add Interferon or switch the chemo to GAX so I don't get resistant to Folfiri. He said he doesn't do that, he sticks to his regimen Folfirinox and GAX with again satistics of 1 to 2 years. He is doing the pse(partial splenic embolization) which I know nothing really about but hope it works. Do I switch oncologists or switch to someone who is more open minded? My current doctor wants me to stay on Folfiri until he sees my levels rise or my tumor growing. I want to change chemos before it starts to grow so I don't become resistant! Any thoughts would be appreciated!!!
