The only symptoms that I had were missed periods, and slightly elevated Inhibin levels. I recently had a hysterectomy, however, so I don't have to worry about periods any more (btw, it's awesome!). I am followed closely by my onc-Inhibin testing every 3 months, and CT scans every 6 months.

Forgot to add that GCT has nothing to do with breast cancer...that's normally other more common types of ovarian cancer.

I'm not sure, it's hard to say. I've had GCT for the past twelve years. I've had a couple of small recurrences, that were removed via laparascopy. I recently had a hysterectomy. I went seven years before I had my first recurrence. I just recently started Armidex, which is an aromatase inhibitor. I've been told that you should not take estrogen if you've been diagosed with GCT. That was hard for me to accept at first,...

Omg, you have been through a lot. GCT is an unpredictable tumor, but it is usually very slow growing. I have had it for about 12 years, and I have never had any pain or symptoms other than missed periods. It is not as aggressive as other types of ovarian cancer. Usually they do not recur, but sometimes they do. I have had two recurrences. The only treatment that I have had so far is surgery to remove the recurrences....

Forgot to add that I recently started taking curcumin, which is supposed to be a natural cancer fighter. I'm not sure if it will help, but it can't hurt to try it.

I also have GCT. I have had it for 12 years. Fortunately, it has not really caused me any pain or illness...yet. I am considering chemo this time to prevent or extend the time between recurrences. I have seen Dr. Gershenson at MD Anderson. He is one of the leading experts on stromal tumors. He is very nice and has a great bedside manner. How long has it been since her last recurrence? GCT typically goes years before ...

Ugh...frustrating. I'm sure it will show itself again someday, the question is when?

Oh my gosh, you have been through so much.  When I start to feel sorry for myself, I try to remind myself that some people have been through so much more that I have. This tumor is so unpredictable. It seems that you either have tumors that grow slowly and come back sporadically, or tumors that come back constantly. I hope that the BEP is effective for you. I had some good news yesterday...my CT scan came back n...

Good news! My CT scan was negative. I am in the clear for now. Not sure what is causing the elevated levels, unless it is residual disease that is too small to be seen on the scan. I'm good for another six months...
