My spouse has decided this is the best option for him and request for coverage has been denied on the basis that it is considered investigational.  Has anyone been through the appeal process with any insurance company? If so what documentation or argument did you use and was it successful? Thanks so much.

That possibility sounds very reasonable. I will be praying for the miracle of the human body immune system to do just that, tomatoman.

Proton Therapy is different. It is more specific if I am understanding the literature correctly. I am a bit concerned about recurrence. Did they say why yours came back, was it because it was too small to detect?

Thank you so much for recommending proton therapy. It helps to know that if you fight for payment the insurance company will finally pay as this is a major concern for him. While I'm the spouse and will not make the choice, I pray he chooses proton therapy because I don't care how much it costs if it gives him a better quality of life.  My husband will be on Medicare in mid Jan 2017, not sure if they will pay but hope they do, so we hope to wait until then.

Thank you for posting, we are scheduled for an appt with a practice doing this to hear about brachytherapy. We will ask them about Nanoknife, too.
Thanks you for posting, this was the recommendation of my husbands urologist.

Did you do proton therapy and if so where and results, any side effects, UI or ED? How about psa results? Thanks, husband just diagnosed 2 weeks ago.
Thanks for posting
Thank you. Reading a book about it now.
