Hi, My husband was also diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on February 28, 2013. He has been on Folfirinox for 19 sessions and Folfuri for 11 sessions. The CT scans in December 2013 and May 2014 are clear and PET scan in February 2014 is clear. This has been a great treatment. Also, he got Neulasta every 2 weeks. Nothing short of a miracle. Good luck to your father. Kat228

Hi, The Ca 19-9 normal range is 0-37.  Your husband's cancer sounds like it can be cured with the Folfirinox. My husband had stage 4 pancreatic cancer one year ago today when he started chemo. He now has no signs of cancer on both the CT and PET scans. His Ca 19-9 originally was 5400 and now it is 29. Hang in there. Keep fighting. Be positive. Continue the chemo. It works. Best wishes for you and your husband.

Tom, My husband's Ca19-9 dropped steadily and the CT scan  showed no shrinkage in the first 3 months. His platelets dropped and sometimes could not get chemo. Also his white cells dropped and they gave him Neulasta, which helped alot. The Dr still did Fulfirinox at 75,000 platelets, which is the protocol. He is doing well now. Hang in there. Kat228

I found through lots of research that eating kale helps increase your platelet count. My husband's platelets were on the borderline for chemo, so he tried eating kale in a smoothie or salad everyday and his platelets went up. Its worth a try!

Bryan, Stable is good news. The pet scan would be the best test to see if it is scar tissue. Keep up the fight and think positive. You are an inspiration to us all. Praying for the best results. Kat

God Bless You. Hang in there. My husband has been on Folfirinox for 13 treatments. His Ca 19 has gone from 5453 to 44. He now has no pain or nausea. He just finished his 13th this Wednesday and had the usual fatigue and diarrhea, but today is back to normal. Best regards. Kat228
