PS

sometimes pain meds will make your hair fall out.  and other types of meds can make it fall out as well. Ask your Dr about taking vitamin E.

I also had the whipple 7 years ago and lost almost all my hair.  Eventually it came back and now it isnt as thick but I am growing it for locks of love and it is 13" long.  it may take a while but I believe it will eventually come back. take care and God bless

 PS

By the way The whipple can also cause gastropareses which I have and it is extremely painful, I have to take muscle relaxers when I eat.  Ask your Dr about that.

I too am sorry for your stomach pain.  I suffer continuosly from stomach pain and am on 3 meds including morphine for the pain.  Sometimes it is so bad I end up in the er.  Sometimes the pain was from something else like kidney failure, extreme dehydration, etc.  Talk ernestly with your doctor. it may be something else.  Like I have a lot of pain when I eat because when you have the whipple they take out part of your stomach.  maybe eat less and more often.  I really sympathize with your pain God knows I pray all the time for relief.  Take care and I hope things get better.  I wish I had better advice for you.

Sincerely,

Allyson

Cris,

thanks for the words of encouragemen.  It really made my day  I didnt mean to put 3 messages on there I was trying to edit.  I hope this message finds you well.  But I do have a question. Do you have a PCA? (personal care assistant} She is invaluable to us as my mother has diabetes, chrones and a ruptured tenden and to top it all of mu sister who helps us almost every day broke her hand. I think sometimes if it wasnt for bad luck I wouldnt have any at all. I am just teasing, we take it as it comes.  Take care Chris and good luck

sincerely

Allyson

I was diagnosed with non- alcoholic pancreatitis at 45 and had the whipple a couple months later at MUSC in Charleston, SC.  Dr Adadms did the surgery and he has people from all over the world to do the surgery. I was 45 and I am 52 now.  I have been bed ridden since I was 45 when I had the surgery.  I have extreme pain and on 3 types of pain meds including morphine.

He is really a great Dr.  I stay depressed because I cant go anywhere.  But I am getting better little by little.  Seven years and some day I will be able to go places. I can only go places where there is a cart I can drive like wal-mart. If you want to respond and I will respond back.

God Bless and good luck to all who suffer
