He is now back in the hospital, end of life, feeding tube removed. He is in a semi-coma, at least he seems that way. They are keeping him heavily medicated so he is pain free. Admitted Wednesday and he was expected to go that night, but he is still holding on. I am glad I can spend this time with him,but it is so hard to watch the changes in his breathing. Not knowing how long he will be like this. It seems cruel, fo...

Update He is loosing his battle, so sad to watch this. I can see him slipping further away every day. This type of cancer is so harsh. At least he is at home and feels safe. Nurses coming in more often now. Nothing makes you feel so helpless as this. Sigh.....

Two weeks ago we were told no more treatment. He is on his own. Very scary. We signed up for hospice. He is so scared he will choke to death. I am scared of that too. He is still at home and I expect him keep him here as long as I can. It does't seem like it will be very long. He is on so many med's and 3/4 of the time he is not here mentally. I can see what may be another tumor growing on the other side of his neck....

Don't be so concerned about speaking to the doctor. Talk to your sister. She will need support now, more than ever. Sooner or later she will have to speak with someone. You can look into a cancer center support group for caregivers, even if she isn't letting you know yet. They may have some idea that can help you and your family cope with her illness.

Get a second opinion, from another dr. Don't take chances, it is your life.

My guy is in his 3rd round of cancer, and 2nd in EC just since June 16. Two tumors at the bottom and a new one at the top. Dr said no radiation this time, because the first two rounds have done so much damage. The planned surgery is now off the table. He had a jtube placed in June and he has it 24/7. It has probably saved his life. Walks around the house with an IV pole. Dr said the other day he does not want him to ...

I was just told that if my guy gets extremely tired, and has a hard time with his thought process, eats less he is at the end of life. But everyone is different so you should ask his medical staff. Best of luck and sending prayers your way.

Well this is second time of Cancer. I thought that the first time would be so hard. Please let me tell you. About first time he had about toncels and limp nowd (not a good speller) cancer stage 4, first round of Chemo his intestines ruptured spilling into his body, doc's surgeon, said he will probably not make it. He did. Then they took out some of his intestines,he had a bag put on, he thought that would kill him, but the doc said she could reverse it after treatment. Then he got an infection and they sent us to the CDC. Thinking about that was scary for me , so I can I imange how it must have been for him. Anyway that infection cleared up. Than 1/1/2015 he was diagnosed with a blood clot, in his whole left leg. now he was put on blood thinners, next radiation began, that ended up with a feeding tube. After all Chemo and radiation he could not eat. Next he had throat shock treatment, twice. 7/2015 intestines were put back together, feeding tube still in. 9/2015 feeding tube removed. Next recovery, or so we thought. In April 2016 he began feeling really tired and had pain in his belly, Now new diagnosis, more Cancer, 5/2016, oh my, but a whole new kind Esophagus cancer and limp nowd , stage 3, doc said if it was stage 4 she could not help him. Lucky it was stage 3. Well now up to date. He had first Chemo treatment and radiation treatment yesterday. After waiting 10 days, which seemed like months not days, struggling with pain, puck, not eating, so sad. Feeding tube put back in tomorrow. I feel that I am just beside myself, trying to stay strong for him, but I am crumbling inside today, he has gone from a strapping 240 pounds to a 175, so sorry got rambling but if I did not tell you about before then you would not understand about today.
