HI,

My Mother is suffering from ovarian cancer IV stage.I was going through the news that IV treatment helps in reducing the effect of cancers to some extent.

Just wanted to know is the above statement true.I am worried about my mom.

please reply.

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer three years ago and after surgery had iv chemo. for nine months the cancer went awaay for ten months, but then came back and went into my bowel another operation and more chemo. The chemo helped again for thirteen months and now my ca 125 is 84 so have to see how this is in 8 weeks and probally more chemo . Although it has not got rid of the cancer I am still hoping that the next chemo might do this.  So try and keep positive get your mother to eat well and also try some meditation, it does help. Good luck for your mother and try not to worry too much

I am aged 72 nad was diagnosed with stage 111c ovarian cancer in May 2007 after many trips to the local GP had surgery plus 9 rounds of chemo carboplatinum and taxal x5 then taxatere and carbo pl.x4. In Nov. 2008 cancer returned and had to have a colostomy as it went into my bowel ,then caelyx x5 at monthly intervals. My ca125 got down to 9 then 2 months later it is now 57 have had a pet/ct scan which was negative. oncologist said all is clear no cancer and not to come back for three months for blood test ca125. I am worried that the cancer will come back before this. Tell everyone a little bit about yourself
