      Hi Everyone,  I have not wrote in, in awhile.  I have been having such problems.  My surgeon Dr. Chabot at Columbia, referred me to a Dr. Martin Freeman in Minneapolis, he is a panacreas specialist and I finally have a Diagnonsis of Chronic Pancreatitis that he said is a common side effect to the Whipple, he said most of his patients are post whipple.  He did and ERCP (my Fifth one) and put two st...

        I have tried enzymes they constipate the heck out of me and the combination of pain pills with them I feel worse when taking them plus I don't think that they really made a difference with digestion.  I find that my ability to digest certain foods keeps changing what works one day does not always work the next, my tolerance for certain foods keeps changing.  I do not eat fatty foods  and I try to restr...

          I don't think that there is any pattern but it is very Important to get a surgeon that has done alot of whipples.  My surgeon is the Cheif of the Pancreatic Division in NY Columbia Presbiterian Hospital and he has done 1,200 whipples.  It is all the luck of the draw how we do after the surgery how are body's react.  I have read about some people doing great after and alot going through hell.  My G...

            Hi Pippa, Go to Google and type in Chronic Pain after the Whipple Surgery   Then go to   All Posts Whipple Surgery - Pain  and click on the site do not click on the 3 or 4 posts under the main line on the site  it will say  Cancer Compass .com.  If you can not find it let me know.               Hi Pippa,  Don't worry about ranting thats what these sites are for, if you go to the other site you will find many of us all ranting about how our lives have changed.  I had my whipple 2 years ago and I have been going through hell ever since.  Six weeks after my surgery I had the worst pain of my life and it ended up being pancreatitis 10 weeks after that they had to operate again due to scar tissue ...

                Go to  Post Whipple Surgery - Pain   On this site there are 17 pages of peoples experiences after the surgery that are Very Helpfull.  I had my whipple done 2 years ago and still have many complications and I have had 2 major surgeries since due to complications to the surgery.

                  Go to   Post Whipple Surgery - Pain       Search this site here in Cancer Compass you will find alot of information about complications after the whipple.  It has been very helpful for me, I had my whipple 2 years ago and I am still having many complications I had to have 2 major surgeries due to complications after the surgery.

                    Hi Wes, I am sorry to here about your father but from my experience with my Aunt who tried Holistic therapies for her Breast Cancer, it worked for a LITTLE while but the cance unfortunately won.  You need to get back to an Oncologist and see what is going on.  I had a whipple surgery 2 years ago and I was fortuate enought that they got the tumor out before it turned to full blown cancer.
