You will get through this - you will be changed but you will survive. And there is a 90%+ chance your Mom will survive too. It is a miserable ordeal but it doesnt kill most of us with breast cancer. I had 3 years of breast cancer tretment that I "survived" and just buried my Mom after 6 months of lung cancer/bone cancer treatment. It does grind you down every day so -   Try to take care of yourself while ...

My oncologist was very unhappy when I took myself off Arimidex after 4 years. she would not give me an alternative medicine. I have felt much better since being off of it - joint aches, fatigue, moodiness and hot flashes ar eall better. I am still struggling with the weight gain. Mary

I have had a small red rash with little pimples since taking Arimidex. but since I also struggled with shingles during the same last 5 years i don't know the cause. But this rash is different from the shingles outbreak. Mary

I am not a fan of Arimidex. My oncoloigst strongly recommended it and did not mention any side effects. I had much worse hot flashes, massive weight gain, nausea and joint pain. I took it for 4 years. last August I just couldnt stand the side effects anymore and went off of it against the advice of my Oncologist. My ...

A previous cancer survivor told me at the beginning of my ordeal - this breast cancer will not kill you. Think of it as an ordeal to get through. You will survive and be stronger of it. You can survive it but don't feel like you have to be noble and not a complainer. Let people help you as needed. And demand information about your specific situation. Find a local support group. Mary
