I am two years out from pelvic radiation and have peripheral neuropathy in my feet, sometimes legs and fingers.  The numb sensation in my feet is the most annoying because I have it all the time -- it feels like the bottom of my feet have an inch of fur on them and if I sit too long, my feet will feel as if they're freezing cold, even though they feel normal to the touch.  I take Gabapentin every night beca...

Hi Cervivor, my name is Peggy, I live just outside Gainesville, FL and have been NED since 2/28/17.  My cervical adenocarcinoma was diagnosed and staged 2b2 in October of 2016 and radiation (external and internal brachytherpy) and adjuvant chemo (cisplatin) treatment began 1-5-17. I am assuming from the way your message is worded that you are experiencing post-treatment issues, as am I.  I am a member of a ...

I agree 100% with everything in this article.  Unfortunately it doesn't go far enough.  My cervical cancer was diagnosed when I was 69 after only about 10 seconds of vaginal bleeding.  I would not have even called my doctor had my sister not urged me to.  I would be dead now.  Although the age of CC diagnosis is getting younger all the time, women over 65 are still 20% of those being diagnose...

I agree with everything PunkyD said... Especially about Hospice.  They are Earth's angels and allow the person to pass on with painless dignity. Highly recommend she, her doctor, family or HCS contact them immediately...  Love to you all. PeggyS

Hi lkemper, All I can say is congratulations!  Your dysplasia was caught so early and you are only CIN1.  Please remember that dysplasia CAN -- NOT DOES -- progress to cancer.  Go for your 6 month check-up and, in the meantime, enjoy every moment with your baby girl.  Do not spend another minute worrying about something that may not even happen. Life is far too precious... I send you positive tho...

I was diagnosed with Stage 2b2 cervical cancer at 69 after 24 years of celibacy and supposedly clear pap smears with no indication of HPV... My last pap smear had been at 65, so I can say with no hesitation, and with experience that both pap smears and HPV testing need to be done at all ages... that is, of course, unless you feel that those over 55 aren't worth the testing.  The after-effects of radiation in tho...

Hi wantiheal65... We've been talking for a while now and I was sad to see this post.  We all have to remember that tomorrow isn't promised to any of us, regardless of whethr or not we have or have had cancer.  I believe we have to live life and love the people we love like there is no tomorrow... Please read Meghan Trainor's lyrics and take them to heart.  Rather than wrapping yourself in your fear and...

Since you don't have cancer, it's best to ask your doctor or someone familiar with Adenomysis and CIN.  The treatment your doctor suggested is standard for that and anything else is just a personal choice about whether you want to have a hysterectomy...

I was diagnosed with 2b2 cervical adenocarcinoma last November, had radiation, chemo and brachytherapy in January and February, was told I was in remission in June and still in remission in September.  Just keep a good sense of humor, stay really positive, keep your faith, reach out to friends and family, and take all the help that's offered, because you will need it.  Fatigue is the worst, nausea/diarrhea ...
