Thank you, that is a huge relief. I have been told by every doctor that I should not do generic, but I just can't afford name brand anymore! I would rather have a full fridge for my kids than pay more for something that is the same. I understand the issue might be variations in the meds, but I can't do the extra money anymore, it's bleeding me dry.

Hi all, I finally got my levels at a good spot on Tirosint (synthroid caused a lot of allergic reactions) but my insurance is changing and I need to switch to generic. Any good experiences with generic? or is everyone's just horrible. I am not sure if I will lose hair again? I had a TT January 2013. I really can't afford $70+ to take tirosint and I am hoping that we just got the dosage right and I am leading a heal...

I'll be more cautious, I am also going to try taking it with vitmain C to see if it helps at all since I am going off the cytomel. Thanks!

I don't have my past records with me, but the most current on is 1.550 with a range of .400-5.140. I thought my past ones have always been fine, so when I expressed that I was surprised by the change, the nurse told me it has flucuated before and has been as high as 3. I don't remember them ever discussing it with me. I have been on 88 tirosint since January. The only change I have made in the last 3 months is I we...

Thanks for your response! I am really good at taking my medicine at the same time every day and waiting at least an hour before eating. Any ideas on why it would be flucuating even if I am doing these things?

What are the optimal levels for someone who is 2 years recovered from TT, no RAI and low risk? I feel like I swing from hypo to hyper, but my test results usually reflect the opposite. Any help?

I know what you mean. I find my eyes get red and dry from time to time when my levels are not in an opimal range. The problem is I don't know what this is for me yet. I thought this was a symptom I get when I am too hyper, but I just got labs back and I am hypo.... so now I am not sure. But yes, I do think this is directly related to our TT and being on medication.
