    I am a pancreatic cancer survivor who has previously had a whipple procedure and now diagnosed with prostate cancer gleason score 7. It has been reccomended that I either use radiation or surgery, surgery is out. In researching radiation treatments proton beam sounds like the right choice. Anyone out there had proton therapy? How has it worked out for you?

      I just got the results from the biopsy they did on my prostate. I have a gleason score of 7 and have been told to consider which way I want them to treat me, I have two weeks to decide. Offers have been, surgical removal with a robot, nuclear seed implantation, hormonal therapy (chemical castration),thermal treatment hot or cold or I can ignore it so to speak with careful constant monitoring.         , unfortunately this is all too often the caseI am truely sorry for your loss. Your advocacy and continued fight against this disease helps immensly being well nformed is the key in many cases early scans can avert diaster, such is my case.             As I commented in my post I was discovered at an early stage by accident, it had not manastisized they got it all in the surgery,n I was very lucky in that respect. but bear in mind I was given a death sentence in the beginning so people must take command of their situation.                 I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about november of 2010. It turned up on a ct scan for an unrelated problem. I went to the VA hospital in slc for a biopsy. They called me several days later and told me the biopsy was positive and they were sorry to give me the news (this was basically a death sentence) first time I ever saw my wife cry in 21 years together after I gave her the news. after bracing myself up and ...
