Hi, My husband has developed a problem with a lot of phlegm. (sp?).  I took him to e.r. a few weeks ago.  He was coughing and spitting up mucous very, very often.  It was green and yellow so we were concerned that he may have Pneaumonia or Bronchitis.  The hospital took an xray and diagnosed him with Bronchitis.  I was out of the room when the doc told him he had Bronchitis and I didn't get ...

My husband had his esophagus removed in May and later on needed a stent to be put in.  He has now had a second one put in.  The first time he ended up in Intensive Care but only because he had to be on Oxygen. This time around he was able to come home after the procedure.

Hi Priscilla, I am so, soo sorry for what you are going through.  My husband has cancer and what I as his caregiver am going through is nothing compared to what you have and are going through.  Of course, I can't speak for him.  I'm not the one lying there with cancer. But, I want you to know that I have said a sincere, heart felt prayer for you.  I have the beliefs of Christianity and I believe...

Hello, we are considering having Hospice for my husband.  I would like feedback from anyone who has been on Hospice or knows anyone who has. I'm too tired to go through the whole story but he had an Esphagectomy in May.  Had stage 3A cancer and still has some left around the junction of the Esophagus.   Don't know what to do.   Please, would like any feed back.  Thank you

Hello, You mentioned that you called Hospice.  Can you tell me how you made the decision to get Hospice involved?  I am caring for my my husband who had stage 3A Esophageal cancer and had an Esophagectomy in May.  He was diagnosed in Dec. of '14. He still has some cancer in the cervical area but he cannot get chemo because he is in poor shape.  His recovery has been a nightmare.   I feel l...

My husband had an Esophagagectomy in May of this year.  Things didn't go as we would have hoped and now the doc. is offering to do a Colonic Transposition.  I would like some feed back from anyone who may have had one done. Thank you

Wow!  People just amaze me.  Everyone says, oh, what can I do to help?  Well, that's at the beginning.  It's been 9 mos. since diagnosis and 5 since surgery.  It seems that each friend did "one" thing and has since stopped helping.  It's as though it eases their conscience to know that "they helped."   I'm angry.  Today my husband and I are both sick with bronchiitus (him) and...

Hi Julie, I'm soo sorry for your loss.  Seems it came quickly and from what I've been told and read losing someone in a short amount of time can be more devastating than over a long period of time. I am reading a book, "Recovering from the losses in life" by H. Norman Wright, a grief and trauma counselor.  It is a fantastic book.  It may help you.  I found that reading it in parts at different t...
