My husband has bile duct cancer and his chemo treatment was stopped last August  since then he has been admitted to hospital several times with infection. He has been in the hospice now for 2 weeks  to regulate his medicines and again suffered rigors last Sunday.  We are fortunate having the local hospice for support. My husband is still here but I wanted to state that there can be a good life after the Whipple procedure. In 2017 the cancer returned. He had 6 months chemo in 2017 and had no ill effects at all and was active.  In 2018 he opted for a further 6 months of chemo which was stopped as he was unwell and was admitted to hospital several times with infection. My husband was rushed into hospital with sepsis. Ant biotics were administered introvenously and he was discharged the following day. The doctor told him that this would recur and that he would have to return to hospital each time to have antibiotics had this administered introvenously. Has anyone else had this experience?

I was previously tagged "myley" but couldn't access my account so I am now myley06. My husband has bile duct cancer and after two 6 month courses of treatment the tumour is growing. He has been offered 5FU for further chemo treatment but the oncologist didn't encourage him to take it. I'm not sure how long he has left but the Dr said the treatment would take 3 months out of his life.He attends the hospice on Monday'...
