It is a little more than 500 miles from Knoxville.Renowned Thoracic surgeon, Dr raphael Bueno. Brigham & Womens' Hosp. Boston Massachusetts. There are places you can stay for free while she is in Hosp. Just have to talk to the Social Worker at the Hosp.He has done some remarkable work with restructuring. He travels to  other countries teaching new procedures that they are doing at Brighams.

Some say being the care giver or friend and or spouse of a Cancer victim is just as hard. It is painful to watch and feel like it is out of our control, and it is. Just be there and be supportive. Call in the doctors and other support services when and if you need them. You need to take care of your self as well.

Make sure you get help from a larger hospital that deals with EC weekly. Allot can be done now. Husband had stage 3 B EC and is now 5 years out .Hospitals in Maine gave us no hope. We then went to Dana farber & Brigham & Womens in Boston  and he is cancer free for the last 5 years.. Go to the best you can get to. Don't look at the internet they haven't caught up with the latest results of a better t...

You said he can have late dumping and hypoglycemic episodes. My husband has had this he is 6 years out. It is reactive hypoglycemia. It can kill you. Drs are now seeing it as a side effect of people that have had stomach reductions and esophageal removal. Look up "symptoms of reactive hypoglycemia."  Your husband needs to be on a hypoglycemic diet. Protein and  low on the carbs absolutely no sugar. Sn...

My husband was a stage 3 B did the chemo and radiation and had the Ivor Lewis surgery in Boston at brigham & womens. He is now 5 years out and so far Cabncer free. In a hopital in Maine they told us there ws no hope. So off we went to Boston hands down "We can help you" Make sure you are at a big hospital the best you can get to.Survival rate is pretty good with this surgery. It is done robotically.

Yes what you are going through is expected recovery. My husband is now 5 years out. He walked more in the Hosp. as well However a week after we got home we would put the feeding pump in a back pack and walk 1/4 of a mile a day and slowly at that. Then increase as time went on. Don't get over tired. No other exercise just daily activity and walking to help expand the lungs and get the blood flowing to aide in heal...

Hang in there my husband went through what you are going through 5 years ago. The residual pain should go in time. Survival rates for this cancer are good now. Eat healthy lots of vegies and healthy protein give up the alcohol as it is an irritant to the mucous membrane and is full of sugar. Cancer loves sugar stay away from this as well.Do an search on the net "sugar+cancer" you wont eat another cookie!

Husband in the hosp currently for having passed out and seizure glucose of 50. After many tests docs thinking it is heart related. (it is not) Doc's thinking it was atrial fib because of the elevated pulse.  We Researched it on the net and voila! It is common with people that have had any stomach surgery. "Reactive Hypoglycemia" They are especially seeing it now with all the Gastric bypass surgery. When you think...
