Hello, I also had a bad taste in my mouth after I had surgery. It was really nasty. It made my breath stink also. I'm not sure what it was, but it did go away. Hope yours does too. Have a good day. Pipernickel

Arlene, I completly understand what you are going through. My emotions have been all over the place. I'm in my mid 50's now,  had EC and went through chemo and radiation and surgery and I am cancer free. I lost my job and so I have not worked in over 4 years now. I am also rasing my 13 month old grandson, which is not all ways easy to do. I'm still lacking energy in my body, but it's a lot better than it ...

Hello, I had a esophagectomy in 2008. I vomited a lot and had lots of mucus and I had a cough. I finially got better and it all went away. I only took some medicine for the cough. You will get better, it just takes time. Hope you feel well soon. Pipernickel

I was in the hospital for tweleve days in 2008. I had the same kind of surgery and I coughed and vomited a lot. It took weeks for it to get better. It just takes time. I hope that he gets feeling better real soon. Pipernickel

I am 54 and I am a wife and mother. I had Stage 3 EC.I was diagnosed March of 2008. I had chemo and radiation and then I had surgery Sept. of 2008.I had a Transhiatal Esophagectomy. I was in the hospital for tweleve days and I did get pneumonia and had to take antibiotics. I will admit that it was hard for a while. I had a jejunum tube in for about four months after surgery. It was hard for me to eat certain foods at the begining and I coughed alot and threw up alot, but things did get better. I can eat about anything now, even though I have to make sure that I chew my food well and watch the sugar intake. I am cancer free and I am so thankful to the Lord most of all and I am also thankful for my doctors. I am so very thankful for my family for taking care of me and for their prayers and also the home health nurses as well. I'm also thankful for my church family and their prayers. Praise and glory be to God !
