She goes for 3 weeks in a row for a treatment of G/A. It's one day a week  and takes a few hours - they do abraxane first them gemcitibine. Then she has a week off - so no chemo, then the 3 week cycle starts after that.  The side effects were not great at first but have gotten better- mainly digestive, hair loss and neuropathy but overall she is doing pretty good. She also takes some supplements. A really g...

My sister was diagnosed in January and started on folfirnox in early Feb.   CA 19- went down but started going up in May (back to where it started in January) Since june she has been on gemcitibine(gemzar)/Abraxane and after 2 cycles (3 week on 1 week off) her numbers are down drastically.

Read the book Life Over Cancer by Keith Block-the diet he  recommends is mainly vegetarian but with eggs and fish- no dairy or meat.  It has been my cancer bible since my sister was diagnosed with PC in January. We had a phone consult with Dr. block  and a nuturitionist from the block center- both great. Look into Chemo sensitivity testing (google Rational therapeutics) altho most oncologists see it as...

I recommend getting the book Life Over Cancer by Keith Block (its my cancer bible)..and following the diet (and supplements) that he recommends - he's been doing integrative cancer care for over 30 years and has had great success. The diet is mostly plant based (except for eggs and fish) so it sounds like you are on the right track. Good supplements to take for PC are curcumin (but you need to take the right kind), s...

The hospital should be able to give him blood thinners for the clots (same thing happened to my sister and she is on blood thinner) and they should be able to drain someof the fluid in his abdomen (again my sister had same). It most likely will fill up but at least he will get some relief. What hospital or area are you in?? There shouldbe something that they can do. When was he diagnosed?? Did he have any chemo??

I dont believe they mutate but not sure. I know with RT they can do the testing on ascites fluid (assuming there are cancer cells) and tumor from biopsy that has been taken previously  as long as its stored in a certain way but i dont recall how. From what i understand, the mets cells are the same as the source cancer. My sister had her liver lesions tested (not the tumor on her pancreas) to confirm the PC diag...
