RE: Pancreatic CA Survival

by Sfebwe - December 17, 2014

Thank you so much for sharing your story and the wonderful resources. I shared it with my husband to show him there are people out there who have survived beyond 1 year. I am grateful for you and stories of hope. Sincerely, Stephanie.

Pancreatic CA Survival

by Sfebwe - December 16, 2014

I guess my families concern is if there is anyone who has survived adenocarcinoma of pancreas tail with possible mets to lungs. Area in lungs to small to biopsy. My father-in-law keeps seeing the grim reports and studies of not lasting a year. It just breaks my heart to see someone wanting to do everything g possible to stay alive and be with his children and grandchildren. Is there anyone who has I can pass along your story? Thank you

We received the CT results for my father-in-law yesterday. The tail tumor is about 3cm and they did see microscopic cells in his lungs. They stated those were too small to biopsy. He is scheduled for a pancreatic biopsy on Thursday. They stayed that since it was found somewhere else he was not a candidate for surgery and it was automatically a Stage 4. We are just so broken-hearted. We were so hoping for better news and would still love to find someone who would be willing to help and not give up.

Thank you. I hope we will also find it has not spread and will be a candidate for surgery. Thank you again.

Pancreatic Cancer

by Sfebwe - December 06, 2014

We received the results from the cancer marker today which was 391. I know that normal is 37 or less. Has anyone had a similar level and it had not metastasized to anywhere else. They are wanting to make sure it has not entered the omentum. I find that talking to people with similar cases will give me more insight as to what we are looking at. He is scheduled next week for a biopsy and the oncologist stated yesterday that it did not appear to be in his nodes. The CBC w/diff was normal except for a slightly elevated MVC. Thank you for any responses,

Pancreatic Cancer

by Sfebwe - December 04, 2014

Hello, My father-in-law was diagnosed Monday with a 3.1cm tail tumor. We are waiting for results to see if it has spread to the omentum. His WBC and labs were normal. He is scheduled for a biopsy later this week. I am just unclear of surgical options if it has spread. We are just completely distraught. Any information would be appreciated. Is 3cm considered large or advanced?
