MD anderson is a great place I hear.  Good luck with it.  sounds as if bilateral mastectomy might be a good option.  I was 44 when diagnosed. I chose lumpectomy, radiation, chemo, and a hysterectomy.  It's all done as of December.  A long road but you will see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Hang in there!   Much love your way!  Keep in touch Ann!

NSTF13 - good luck with your surgery.  You will have a drain tube or 2 when it's done.  I hope the lymph nodes come back negative. fingers crossed and toes crossed and saying a prayer. Keep us updated on your recovery!

Yes I did trim my hair as the ends clearly showed "fried" with the chemo.  I think it's taking its time growing back though.  Yes you sound very tough and God bless you with good health here on out as well!

Nicole - I am glad to help.  I wish you were in my state as I could physically help you but I don't know where you are.  My advice is to contact www.breastcancer.org and see if there is a support group in your area.  You need a support group.   You might want to take a break from school so you can be of more help.  It sounds as if the stress is getting to you too.   Be there for her an...

Hi imoyer.  I am excited that my hair is starting to grow back too!  It's dark and curly and was light and straight!  LOL   Regarding the weight gain, I gained prob about 5 lbs.  I continued to eat healthy and go to the gym so I think that helped me from gaining too much. I had to do the steroids but when I did the first big dose of it and knew I woudln't get sick, I had the doc dose down ...

Well I went to CTCA and was candidate for the IORT so I did the IORT at time of surgery.  He found a positive lymph node that had matastisised so we went to the 4 rounds of AC and 12 rounds of Taxol.  After that, I had a hysterectomy.  I finished all the above in December.  I have slowly gotten more energy back.  I hear the radiation can make you tired.  I am getting energy back now! ...

so you had a biopsy on the left and it was positive?  Have you started any treatment yet?  Had lumpectomy?  Now there's talk of one on the right.  Not sure if it's positve.  Bilateril will certainly take care of the lump on the right.  Yes it can have your head spinning for sure.   I know it's hard because you have decisions to make.  Has chemo been discussed?  What stage...

A 2nd biopsy?  So did the surgeon do a biopsy before?  Rather than having them do a biopsy and then the lumpectomy, I would have them do the lumpectomy.  Just my opinion.  I base it on sticking a needle in the tissue and pull the needle out.  What cells could be on that needle as it is pulled out?  The less that the docs have to touch the effected area, the better chances it doesn't spre...
