Thank you for your reply Dodger!  So happy you were approved so fast!  The initial time she filed was strictly for the AA3 well treatment.  To tell you the truth I am not 100% sure why she was denied that time but we also did not file an appeal to fight the denial (she decided to return to work)  Now with the osteoporosis and fractures in her spine she was forced to resign. In the last 2 deni...

Hello:-). Hoping to get a little feedback from anyone who has dealt with the mess of social security disability. My mom was diagnosed with an AA3 a little over four years ago. She had a total resection and I am so blessed to say she has been in remission ever since!:-) She filed for disability about two years later. Noticed some memory loss and also feeling very fatigued. She was of course denied (pretty sure...

Want to start by saying I am so sorry to hear about your dad.  My mom was diagnosed with a AA3 in June of 2011.  My advice to you is to always get a second opinion. Not sure where you live but my mom went to Mayo clinic for her surgery.  I know there are some really amazing hospitals with wonderderful brain tumor programs.   Again I am so sorry for your dad's diagnosis:-(  There are...

You are all so amazing   I swear I learn more from this site than I do the NO's!  But yes the appt was just really strange...the nurse says everything looks great and then the doctor says they see something.  The NO at Northwestern is fairly new and the NO at Mayo has been praticing for years.  I wanted to call Northwestern yesterday and tell them what Mayo was saying but my mom wants to...

thank you for your reply   and yes very confusing!  The reason the NO at Mayo does not want to start treatment is because he believes this is just treament related (she is about 7 months post radiation)  The NO at Northwestern wants to either schedule another surgery, start avastin, or get her enrolled in a clinical trial. The NO at Northwestern is supposed to call my mom on Friday to discuss trea...

Hello All:-)   I posted something last week regarding my moms 10 month post op scan and the NO from Northwestern saying there was regrowth...We originally had surgery at Mayo and she had a NO there but we live about 6 hours away so the NO at Mayo reffered her to a new NO at Northwestern. After the appt last Wednesday at Northwestern we sent her scans to the NO at Mayo for a second opinion... ...

Thank you all so much for your replies.  I really thought we would have more time before we had to start all over:-(  But as you all know this disease is so unpredictable.   I will make sure to update at soon as we hear what the next step is.

My mom had her 10 month post op scan yesterday and we learned the tumor has returned....  It has just brought back all those feelings when we first found out June 29th of last year.   I just feel so awful for her.  She feels so defeated:-(  Last night I was with her and she said with tears rolling down her face "I just want it to go away"  I told her we are going to get this and the figh...

I am sure everyone is different but before my mom was diagnosed she would have an all day headache that only came on every 5 weeks or so. She would take ibuprophen when she felt it coming on and that would really just take the edge off not necessarily get rid of it but by the next morning it was always gone. Are his headaches always in the same spot?  The reason she was scheduled for an MRI was due to som...
