Hi Moontracker,My husband, Brian, was treated at PMH. He started out on ECX, and it worked for 6 treatments. He went off for a "break" and his cancer started growng quickly. He then went on taxol and cyrmza, and it did nothing for him. Brian was then put on keytruda, from September 2015 to January 2016. He had a periacardial effusion, and and pleural effusion, and had to have both his heart and left lung drained. He...

Hi Tracy, How was the party? I hope that everyone had a great time! Sounds like it would be a blast. How is Steve tolerating the treatment? All well so far? I hope so! Brian has been okay, slowly getting better but still very weak. The doctors believe that all this heart trouble stems back to August. In August, Brian's stent had shifted and bent. He went in and had it fixed. Afterwards, a couple weeks or so, he ...

Hi Tracy,Still here! Just had a very busy January. Brian has been taken off of Keytruda. He had a pericardial effusion and pleural effusion in the beginning of Jan. (I posted that). Then last week, exactly 4 weeks from the first hopsital stay, he was having a really fast heeart rate (155) and very low BP. So to the ER we went and he was cardioverted. It worked for 12 hours, and his heartrate has been high ever since....

Hi Tracy, I am so glad to hear that you and Steve were able to get away! That must have been so nice, but I can imagine the anxiety over what may happen. How is the pembro? The fainitng spell must have been terrifying, how is Steve now? I know I should have used a different subject, I guess the tirednesss took over. :) I posted it in the FB group as well. Brian gets his treatment at Princess Margaret Hospital in To...

Hi Laren, thank you for your reply. I'm sure that the last nine months for you and your wife have not been easy at all. I always say to Brian to look at how far he has come. Sometimes a different perspective helps. He is recovering well from the endocarditis and pleural effusion! Things are looking up right now. I am glad that I can encourage you in any way. Hope your wife gets better. Take care

Hi all,It's been a long week. My husband was admitted to the hospital last Sunday evening and we have been here since. He had a pericardial effusion. They drained 650ml of fluid off of his heart. Next they tested the fluid. It came back with bacteria in it, so they started him on an antibiotic and sent his blood for culture testing. They also re tested the heart fluid, and there was another bug in it. Lots of an...

Hi Tracy,How is Steve doing? Is he handling the treatment well? Brian got results from his scan. It looks like the spot in his liver has grown, and is stent has shifted. We are waiting for the surgeon to call us back, so he can get it fixed. Our doctors want to keep on the trial, because apparently keytruda is known to have psuedo progression. I was unaware of this, so I thought I'd let you know. He will be scanne...

Hi Tracy,Brian has his scan tomorrow. We've been feeling a little nervous of course. He has his fourth infusion on Wednesday. I'm glad that Steve has tolerated it well so far. It's great that his labs are coming back good. Hopefully the cough will go away soon. Hope all is well with you too! Here's to hoping for great results!! Stephanie

Hi Tracy,How is Steve doing? Is his cold/congestion getting better? Brian caught a bit of a cold last week, but he seems to be okay. He just had round 3 yesterday. Again, his hemoglobin was low (lower than usual, but not as low as last time), but our (favourite!) doctor didnt want to transfuse him this week. So far so good! The lymphnode in the chest cant be found anymore. So I'm not too sure that it was one. Our doct...

Hi Tracy,Brian is doing well. His biggest problem right now is sleeping. He just cant seem to get comfortable for more than a couple hours at a time. I think this is related to his stent though, not the drug. Brian didnt get benedryl for this drug beforehand. We were told to monitor him instead. He hasn't had any reaction. He goes for the third round next week. His first scan on this trial isnt until mid Novembe...
