    My cousin had a second surgery and yes there was a lot of scar tissue and she had to be on high doses of corticosteroids, the surgery followed by Avastin did prolong her life for months.       First let me say, I am sorry about your brother having to go through this so young, but you are right - he has a lot of things going for him when it comes to battling GBM. There is still a chance he will be a long-term survivor despite having unmethylated/wild type GBM.Statistics are not the law.I will just encourage you not to give up on treatment, it could prolong his life until hopefully a new drug comes along. We were very hopeful after she showed no signs of progression for 6 months, which I think is more than average for Avastin, but knew it was a matter of time before it happened again.How long did your mom live after stopping Avastin?It's encouraging that you had great moments with your mom even after her diagnosis.           Hello everyone. My cousin was diagnosed with GBM in August 2017, at the age of 45, had surgery in September,followed by radiation and chemo (temodal). Unfortunately she had progression again in December and had another surgery. After the second surgery she started Avastin + Temodal. She was progression free until an MRI a few weeks ago showed signs of progression again. Her oncologist will continue Avastin+Temod...
