My distal was done a year into my ordeal after the whippal was deemed inoperable after I was opened up fotr the whhipple and the surbion noticed vein and artery involvement with the aorta being compromised by the tumor being wrapped around the aorta felt this was too dangerous and  " one slip of the scaple" I would surely bleed to death there on the table. Went right back to chemo treatments. This was July 2013 ...

When I had my port placed was quite easy. Had been getting initial chemo through regular IV`s in hands, wrist, arms etc. The veins are shot there now. Never in my life had I feared needles til now when I occasionally have to go to a different facility or doctor and they refuse to access the port. I end up getting poked and proded at so much just for them to find a vein that hasn't been destroyed due to my early chemo...

I take 30/60 slow release morphine every 12 hrs as needed, with 15 mg breakthrough pain ir tabs every 3/4 hrs as needed for breakthrough pain. Each dr. Is different with pain management. I find this dose works so well that I often find 1 60mg extended release daily is enough. Only occasionally do I need a "breakthrough" dose. I too experiance alot of mostly right sided pain along with excrucciating lower spine pain. ...

I have to start by saying I am the pt. In the scenario and have views on each of the caretakers comments. As I was dx`d 21 months ago  April 5, 2013 with stage 2/3 pan can. After this did indeed help was set up to have the "whipple" procedure  July 20 of 2013. Arrived at t...
