Hi Redpoppy, I don't know if my bouts of wild itching all over have anything to do with ET but what I do is take an allergy pill, make sure I've had something to eat, and then do this visualization: Imagine your entire nervous system is outside your body.  Then focus on one section of your nervous system.  A visual that works for me is imagining a bunch of grapes with all the grapes plucked off (which sor...

Dear Home, This might help with the depression problem. I have a problem with depression and lately I've been picturing my depression as a deep black hole in the middle of the floor. It doesn't move, it just waits for me to give in to its magnetic pull. With this awareness I keep catching myself edging closer and closer to the abyss where my thoughts get more and more doom and gloom. Then I tell myself to knock...

Dear swess, Good luck with BMB - I was given 2 shots of Lidocaine and didn't feel a thing except some pressure.  Hope you receive Lidocaine shots as well - and there are no side effects. Take care, Theresa

Dear PinPaolo, The bone marrow biopsy I had was not painful at all.  My hematologist oncologist gave me 2 shots of Lidocaine, one into the skin/muscle and one into the bone.  The Lidocaine shots just sting a little (like any shot) and then the Lidocaine feels hot for a few seconds.  After that, I didn't feel the biopsy at all.  The doctor had to push to get the biopsy needle into the ri...

Dear sydlynne, I'm guessing there is a range for positive results and negative results (like a number line).  So I'm positive for the mutation but not by much (and I don't know whether that's a good thing or not!). Theresa

Dear Otherworlder, I am so sorry to hear what you've been through with those two bone marrow biopsies.  That's ridiculous!  When I went for my bone marrow biopsy, I was expecting the worst but didn't feel anything except some pressure.  My hemotologist - oncologist said he gave me 2 injections of lidocaine - one in the muscle area and one in the bone.  My doctor struggled...

Dear Otherworlder, After I read your post re: incorrect diagnosis, I wanted to punch your doctor.  Maybe, I want to punch my doctor.  I could be at death's door (which I'm not) and he would never know.  Why?  Because I can't afford the $50.00 copay to walk into his office.  Has he called to ask what's going on?  No.  Has he called or had a staff member call to see how I'm feeling?&...

Otherworlder, Give miralax a try. You stir 17 mg of white powder (that looks like sugar) into water or any beverage.  It doesn't have any taste.  It's not like other products.  No cramps, just results.  Moisture is added where it's needed and things run much more smoothly.  I take it almost every day.  If I miss it for more than 2 days, I'm back to the constipation. I use the store-bra...
