My ct scan detected a pancreatic mass then they did an endoscopy to confirm. Can you get your doctor to order an endoscopy. They will give you a sedative and go down your throat with a camera and can take tissue to biopsy. That would be my next move. Also did they do a CA19 with blood work? You need to get to the bottom of this. Keep pushing for answers. Good luck !!!.

RE: pelvic ascites

Don't be worried about frightening me. I would rather know the truth then not. I talked to the dr I saw yesterday. My reg dr is out of town. She did not think there was anything that needed to be done. I told her I have every symptom listed under pelvic ascites. I have appt. with my reg. dr Mon and I think he will be more informed. In the meantime..I'll be after some more answers from the cancer center I go to.

I value all you for sharing your stories and telling me what is going on. I know I'm my best advocate. Sometimes it's hard for me so I really needed assurance I was doing the right thing in pursuing this.

I'm thankful for forums like this to help us through. Blessing to all!

I am so sorry to hear about your wife. Thank you for sharing. Sounds exactly what I have been going through. Vomiting daily has been my major complaint for awhile. The pain was excruciating to the point I couldn't breathe and I was clammy and my blood pressure took a dive the day I went to ER.  Yest. the pain started again on my way home from appt..I drive an hour each way. Difficult to take a deep breathe. I managed to get through it. I am going to get some answers from my dr today!!

Thank you for your response. I'm 58 and usually go alone.  I was there for chemo...currently doing gem and Abraxane. It was cancelled yest.cause my labs were low. I had transfusion in the hosp. 4 days before. Platelets are low and my legs are full of black and blue marks. . She did talk about the fluid being the reason I showed a 13 lb weight gain in a week. Other then that no mention of doing anything for it. My ankles also are swollen. I'm generally more inquisitive but for some reason didn't think much of it. After researching I started worrying. Every symptom listed in what I found I have. Thank you for reassuring me I'm not over reacting.. I am contacting my dr right now.

pelvic ascites

by tweixel - September 25, 2018

I was dx with pancreatic cancer in May of 2017. So far the cancer hasn't spread. Have had several rounds of chemo and radiation and seems things are stable. After a stay in hospital last week from extreme abdominal pain..clammy..breathing trouble..vomiting and few other symptoms  I was told my ct  scan shows moderate pelvic ascites. Seems there wasn't a concern from the Dr. but after reading about it online I need to know if anyone else has been through this and if this will go away on its own .What I read about it makes me little nervous.
