my husband (who is 68) has AA grade 3. diagnosed in june after a grand-mal seizure in early may. he had two tumors right on his speech center, which has caused aphasia, and last month the MRI showed another small tumor in the frontal lobe, all on the left side. he had a full six weeks of radiation-plus-Temodar, and is now into Temodar, 5 days on, 23 off. he has had one round of the latter, then the oncologist told us...

Similar story here. My husband is 68 and had a major seizure on May 1. After much fumbling around with emergency rooms and such, he was finally diagnosed in June after a brain biopsy, with anaplastic astrocytoma grade 3, two small tumors right over the speech center in his left brain. He did the six-week course of radiation and Temodar, with Keppra twice daily to stop the seizures, and Decadron to help with the swell...

the "integrative medicine" sounds like a ripoff to me. $1800 doe bloodwork? gimme a break... don't throw good money after bad. if you want to do a healthy diet, you can find info for FREE on the internet. caveat emptor, however.

BogieMon, my DH has aa3 and is in the middle of week 2 of radiation and Temadar. his aphasia seems to be  improving; he's taking Decadron against the brain swelling and Keppra against the seizures. no surgery predicted, as his tumors are right on the speech center and thus inoperable. but we live in hope. it's good to hear from people who are thriving with this kind of cancer. life is good if you just take it da...

i think we have to get used to the "new normal" during and after a cancer diagnosis. my life changed a lot when i had lymphoma (in remission since Nov. 2013), but that was nothing compared to the changes i experienced and am experiencing since my huband's diagnosis of grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma. after a series of seizures and a brain biopsy, he was only just given the diagnosis yesterday, and has not yet begun tr...

thank you for this!! i have been going through a rollercoaster of emotions and anxiety since my DH's seizure on May 1, and his new (yesterday) diagnosis of anaplastic astrocytoma, grade 3. this comes just a couple of years after my own successful treatment for NH lymphoma, large diffuse B-cell type. whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and i know from my own experriences in the cancer warrior community that ...
