I was diagnosed with stage 3 carcinoid cancer in 2010 following years of stomach issues.  Surgery removed my primary tumor from the small intestine, as well as a few others, but it was already in my lynph nodes.  Two years later it had metastisized to my liver.  Another surgery was done to remove the tumor from my liver and to take out some more small intestine and my gall bladder and apendix (just in ...

This sounds very similar to my situation.  Always had sporadic stomach pains, and had diarrhea regularly.  Finally the primary tumor in my intestine caused the intestine to kink and this caused a blockage.  They went in and removed the primary, and one other small carcinoid, but found that the cancer had gone into my lymph nodes.  Two years later thay found one operable tumor in my liver.  Th...

My carcinoid was in the small intestine originally.  I had sporadic abdominal pain for years and diarrhea for 2-3 years prior to being diagnosed.  My primary tumor caused a kink in the bowel and a blockage.  Following my bowel resection in 2010, they found sveral carcinoids and 7 lynph nodes had been affected.  Two years later the cancer had gone into my liver.  Luckily it was only one medium...

I have had 3 surgeries to remove Carcinoids in my small intestine, liver and ovaries.  At no time did I ever test out of the norm on the 5H1AA or the CgA tests.  If you have the symptoms, there are other tests that can be done.  All of my carcinoids were first seen on a CT Scan.

I have had three surgeries related to my carcimoid cancer.  The second surgery was to remove a tumor from my liver and they told me they were going to take the Gallbladder as well for the same reason you mentioned.  They also took the appendix, since it was also a possible site.

I was diagnosed with Carcinoid in 2010 when my primary tumor kinked in my small intestine and had to be removed right away.  They took out about 2 feet of intestine and told me that it had gone into 5 out of 10 lymph nodes tested.  In late 2012, it was found in my liver, just one medium sized tumor and I had some Carcinoid Syndrome symptoms, such as flushing and daily diarrhea.  They took out the tumor...

My 5HIPAA never shpwed any elevated levels, but I did have the flushing and the diarrhea.  My first carcinoid was removed from my small intestine in 2010 due to a blockage that it caused.  It had already gotten to my lymph nodes at this time.  In 2012, I kept having the flushing, but tests were all negative.  Finally a visable tumor was found in my liver on a CT scan.  They removed it, took o...

You need to find a carcinoid specialist, or at least someone who is familiar with it.  I just had a second surgery in 11/12 as mine had gone into the liver and was back in the small intestine.  Now it is back only 4 months later, so I am looking for new ways of treating this.  The most effective way is surgery, but if that is mnot possible then look into TheroSpere for the liver and the Sandostatin.&nb...

I had my first surgery in 2010, when they removed a carcinoid from my small intestine.  In October 2012 I had one tumor mets to my liver and another in the small intestine.  These were removed in 11/2012, as well as my appendix and gall bladder.  First CT scan since the surgery now shows another spot in the liver and two more in the small intestine.  Did the octreotide scan, but they don't show on...

I was diagnosed with a carcinoid cancer April 29, 2010, when they had to go in and do a resection of my small bowel due to a blockage. I had had diarhea for two years prior, everyday, and had had severe stomach pains that came and went for years. In April of 2010 my husband had surgery to remove a tumor from his perotid gland, and my stomach issues popped up again. I thought it was an ulcer due to my stress over him, and so did the doctor at first. Two days later I went back to the doctor, as the medicine they gave me did no good. By this time I could not eat anything without experiencing severe pain, so I stopped eating solids and went to a liquid diet. This helped, but was obviously not a long term solution. They took multiple xrays, ultra sound and a CT scan. Finally, after the CT scan they saw the obstruction and had me admitted right away for surgery. Following surgery, I was told that the carcinoid was removed, but had gone into 5 out of 10 lymph nodes. My surgeon said that it will come back, so they have to monitor me and then when it returns, he will go in for an additional resection. He says that it is not in my liver at this time. Should I be seeing someone besides my surgeon every three months??
