    It depends on what is being ruled out and what body part is being examined. As for chest examinations, non-contrast studies can be done with thin slice thickness to show microalcifications that may indicate malignancies. As for the breast, mammography is still the gold standard when it comes to imaging. I hope this helps...

      Hello there. I hope this info helps. I am a Radiologic Technologist by profession and this is my opinion. PET SCAN is more conclusive compared to MRI and CT Scan. MRI and CT Scan tends to be subjective to the skill, notion, and experience of both the operator and Radiologist. PET SCANS rely on radionuclide and tracers which make it the most sensitive radiologic modality for the assessment of lesions.

        Hello my name is Philip. I've been having abdominal pain for 6 months now. Fecal occult blood test came out positive twice which prompted me to push for a screening. Ultrasound whole abdomen shows no problems other than fatty liver. CT Scan whole abdomen with contrast shows no problems other than fatty liver.
